Climate in Wesphalia (May 22nd -July 19th 2026)<\/h2>\n\n

A special exhibition <\/em><\/p>\n\n

The climate shapes people, all other living beings and planet Earth. Climate change and its consequences are felt worldwide, including in Westphalia. With the travelling exhibition “The Climate in Westphalia”, the Landschaftsverband Westfalen-Lippe (LWL) in cooperation with the LWL Museum of Natural History in M\u00fcnster brings the topic to you. <\/p>\n\n

The project is part of a series of travelling exhibitions that the LWL makes available to smaller institutions such as Villa Medica. Many original themes have been presented in our house in this way in the past. Since the reopening in 2025, this is now the first one of this kind with hopefully many more to come. <\/p>\n\n

The exhibition has been opened on May 21 with a vernissage and can be visited until July 19.<\/p>\n\n

Past exhibitions<\/h2>\n\n

Kunstrausch – Emotions in form and color (29.03.2026-10.05.2026)<\/h3>\n\n

“Try out everything that touches and interests you and be good at it!” It was under this credo that Simone Hahn first became artistically active about a year and a half ago – and soon realized that processing emotions in form and color was something she really enjoyed. In a very short time, she created a multifaceted portfolio of classical painting, acrylic pouring and experimental works with aluminum surfaces. The focus of all her artworks is on strong colors – and the invitation to take a relaxing break from everyday life while looking at them. <\/p>\n\n

Simone Hahn will be presenting a selection of her work under the title “Kunstrausch” in our special exhibition between 29.03. and 10.05.2026. In addition, the artist will be offering exclusive one-hour guided tours of her work on April 18 and 26 from 14:30. Admission to the special exhibition is included in the regular visitor price of the museum. For the exclusive guided tours, please register in advance at info@museum-villa-medica.de.<\/a> <\/p>\n\n

All the works of art on display are also for sale.<\/p>\n\n

“Healing Spaces” – art, nature and health<\/strong> (04.01.2026-28.02.2026)<\/h3>\n\n

Under this title, six contemporary artists are showing a range of works from nature-related paintings to photography and sculptures. The exhibition title “Healing Spaces” refers both to the healing effect of artistic creation and to the effect that an engagement with art can have on visitors. In this sense, according to the gallery owners’ concept, the museum space itself becomes a “healing space”. <\/p>\n\n

The exhibition opens on January 4, 2026 and runs until February 28, 2026. All exhibited works are available for purchase. <\/p>\n\n

Rhede – 50 years of town rights (14.06.2025-14.12.2025)<\/h3>\n\n

The summer of 2025 will mark the 50th anniversary of the granting of city rights. On this occasion, members of the local history association have put together a picture exhibition on the local history of Rhede in cooperation with the city archive. More than 400 motifs are to offer a “reflection of the last 50 years in Rhede”. They cover topics as diverse as sports and culture, the development of the textile industry and the change in housing. <\/p>\n\n
