Life in the countryside<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

The newly opened exhibition will show visitors the rural medical history of the 19. and 20th century. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

It begins on the first floor<\/strong> with the so-called \u201cvillage room\u201d, which offers glimpses into the living conditions of the rural population. This is also where visitors first encounter the fictitious Rheesing family, whose life and health story unfolds throughout the house via numerous multimedia stations.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n

The work of healthcare professionals<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

In the individual rooms, aids and situations of the country doctor, pharmacist, chemist, dentist and midwife are presented. One of the houses highlights is the dentist’s office, which has reconstructed with exhibits from the 19. and early 20. century<\/p>\n<\/div>

Pharmacy from Rhede<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Original furnishings from the historic Rheder Hirsch pharmacy form the core of the pharmacy area. The production, storage and distribution of remedies are explained in the two-part exhibition room.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n

Care<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

The 2nd floor<\/strong> is dedicated to the topic of care. There is one room each for home care and hospital treatment. The presentation of the varied history of the Rheder Vinzenz-Hospital leads to the last section of the permanent exhibition.<\/p>\n<\/div>

Hospital and diagnostics<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

The final part of the tour explores the transition to modern medicine, showcasing selected areas of hospital care and diagnostics.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n

Nutrition through the ages<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

A new addition to our exhibition is a separate section for nutritional history. Here, visitors have the opportunity to follow the development and changes in eating habits from the 19th century to the present day. <\/p>\n<\/div>
